Float Fest: Bigger and Better!

TL;DR: (Float Fest is growing, as are our needs! Sound, infrastructure, and bands have all grown and we’re going to try fundraising beforehand to make it easier on concertgoers during the actual fest.)

REAL DETAILS: Alright, so we are going to try things a bit differently this year, in terms of donations, but before we get there, here’s our story: We are a DIY music festival, the brainchild of someone who loves house shows, community, and festivals, and just needed an outlet during the pandemic. Upon sizing up his humble home, built around a staircase, he realized house shows just couldn’t be his thing. His yard, also, not conducive. However, behind his house lie the key to everything: The Millrace. And thus, Float Fest was born, and here we are: Year four is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever. Float fest is a floating, moving music festival where the audience paddles or walks from stop to stop and performers play in different backyards along the race.

Support and attendance has blossomed every year and because of that, we’ve been able to expand leaps and bounds. From 3 bands behind a house with guests floating behind, to a moving experience with over a dozen musical acts, float fest just won’t stop. And that’s where you come in. We simply can’t do this alone. We have donors and sponsors, but with great expansion, comes added expense. We’ve raised money for a new stage, but now we have new sound needs, bigger bands traveling from across the US, more infrastructure needs, new branding, etc. We’ve done donations during the fest (and we will again this year - but it’s hard as we’re all in boats and might not all have money with us) - so let’s try pre-fundraising this year!
