Dennis Fontaine Junior’s Brain Tumor Medical Expense Fund
Donation protected
Friday, January 3rd, Brenda Fontaine urged her 37 year old son Dennis Fontaine Junior to visit the emergency room for high blood pressure and a terrible headache. Hours later, they got overwhelming and unexpected news that was painfully familiar to their family.
Imaging confirmed there is a mass in Dennis’ brain.
For Dennis, his mother Brenda, and sister Amy, their past and their present collided in those moments.
Dennis’ father, Dennis Senior, courageously battled the cancerous brain tumor oligodendroglioma for many years. Brenda bore witness and faithfully took care of her husband as he waged a very personal war against the cancer; Dennis and Amy looked on and helped to care for their beloved father throughout their childhood and into their young adulthood before losing him to the illness in January of 2014.
While we don’t yet know for sure what type of mass Dennis is dealing with, he does have brain surgery scheduled for March 25th to remove the tumor. Soon after the surgery, we should have a definitive diagnosis. We are all praying for the best outcome possible.
Please help us to raise funds to help Dennis with the costs associated with this brain tumor. Sadly, health insurance doesn’t cover things in full, and he will have to miss time from work in order to receive treatment and follow ups. Funds raised through this will be used for medical bills and normal monthly expenses like Dennis’ truck payment and car insurance that may otherwise be impossible due to missing work.
We will keep this Go Fund Me updated as more information on Dennis’ condition is available.
Thank you for reading and for helping such a kind and special person.
Update March 19th: I have since learned of the upcoming medical bills associated with the brain surgery scheduled for March 25th and have adjusted our goal accordingly. Thank you all for the love and support for Dennis!
April 15th, 2025 update: Dennis’ biopsy results have come back showing a cancerous, low grade Astrocytoma with IDH1 mutation. The plan from here involves some very expensive targeted treatment. This treatment comes with risks, such as liver failure, a weakened immune system, and low energy. It may also affect his ability to have children. The recommendation is to start with one year of treatment and to re-evaluate. They have also recommended that Dennis see a geneticist to evaluate whether it was hereditary, as the type of tumor was very close to his father’s.
We are raising the goal to help Dennis pay for this treatment. Thank you all for your contributions and prayers!
