Greetings Good People! We are grateful for all the support you have given our casts, crews, and organizers. Our success is all thanks to you! We could not be where we are without the incredible support and encouragement we have gotten along the way. We have been doing what we do for quite a while now, but we feel we have only just begun!
Click on the image above or the link below to see a 5-minute video montage to get a sense of what we are about, what we have done and will keep doing with your help!
After a short but successful stint there in April, the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Brooklyn has invited us to return to do more shows in August. Although this will be a costly endeavor, the "show must go on"! We need your help in executing this plan which includes producing twice as many shows as we did previously. So, we are reaching out to our community to support the extended run of 'One Drop,' the original play by Andrea J. Fulton, based on ancestral history.
Through the short run completed previously, the Fulton Arts Foundation was able to support the church’s fundraising efforts by entertaining approximately 150 community residents and long-distance supporters. This helped increase the church’s support base and bring awareness to its legacy in the renowned Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y. As well, we grew our own support base by following our passion and mission for theater while helping benefit a charitable cause.
How Your Donation Helps
Sustain the Arts & Community Legacy:
With your help, we will be able to mount our upcoming productions and continue our legacy of supporting community theater by creating and presenting new works that entertain, educate, and inspire.
Enhanced Production Quality:
With all of the great reviews, we are really excited to transform a great show into an extraordinary one. This is difficult in a space that was not designed for stage plays. But with your help, we won't miss a beat in our ability to enhance sound and lighting which is particularly difficult in a historic building that must be retrofitted to be as convincing and effective as possible for our purposes. Investing in upgraded, transportable equipment will enable us to repeatedly and consistently rely upon enhanced technical capabilities no matter the setting we encounter. We have performed in all kinds of spaces including outdoors and we want our equipment to be as ready and capable as we are, no matter where we are!
Supporting Local Talent and Promoting Inclusivity Through the Arts:
Fulton Arts Foundation specializes in supporting older adults of color and under-served communities due to the lack of opportunities. We also pride ourselves in anchoring their support with inclusivity since no one operates in a vacuum and the support of one gives way to opportunities for others.
As a result, we are intentional about creating broad opportunities where anyone can find a place to fit in regardless of socio- economic status, age, ability, gender, sexual orientation or nationality. With your generosity, we will be able to support local talent while making a universal impact.
We are also gearing up to take our brand-new show on the road!
The latest play which already won a major award based on concept alone, "The Prior 55" has been invited on stage in New Orleans! We need your help to take advantage of this great opportunity. Casting is done and it includes stellar talent. We must abide the guidelines of Actor's Equity Association which means we must honor the actor's union ya'll. We can't side-step this and wouldn't want to if we could because part of why we do what we do is to give bonafide opportunities to budding and also older seasoned talent trying to make a way for themselves too. Quality work requires quality talent. So it all goes hand in hand. We need your help to making our dreams and theirs a reality. We will be sure to invite you once the press release is rolled out!
