Fund Black Liberation Education in Burlington VT

The Freedom Finders Collective is an educational space in Burlington, Vermont that centers the safety, integrity, joy and freedom of Black children and children of the African diaspora ages 0-10.

Beginning in October 2023, we will offer school every Thursday for a group of eight children ages 2-9. We believe that loving, creative, liberation-focused education is a right to all families no matter how much money they have. Therefore our school will be tuition free.

Our program is intended to prioritize what is often not included in other schools. We will focus each school day around:

*Child-directed learning and play

*Abolitionist conflict repair

*Studying systems of oppression and movements of resistance

We do not charge tuition because we believe access to loving education for Black children should only be available to ALL families. We also believe Black educators deserve to be paid fairly for their incredible work. Therefore, we need to raise money! Our goal is to raise the rest of our 2023-2024. Our yearly operating budget is $46,000. We have $24,000 of that budget currently. Therefore we are trying to raise $22,000!!
