April 17, 2015: A date many of us won't soon forget. My Aunt Rita was officially diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.
The week prior, she went into the emergency room for severe pains in her side. Gallstones were found, as were tumors in her colon and spots on her liver. Tests over the next couple of days would confirm the cancer.
Aunt Rita's prognosis for survival was determined to be 1 year with treatment, and 6 months without treatment. She has chosen to undergo treatment, which began 4/29/2015. It will consist of chemo treatments for 6 months, and radiation treatments every day for 33 days, excluding weekends.
Aunt Rita had to resign from her job due to the severe pain she is in, and the side effects she is experiencing from her medications.
She has supported every fundraiser I have ever been involved in, including JDRF, school, and sports, just to name a few. She is always helping others! Now is my chance to give back to her!
Aunt Rita is blessed with more emotional support from family and friends than one could ever imagine! The most difficult form of support will prove to be financial. This is where your help is needed!
Medical expenses have been accumulating for weeks, and will continue to add up. Can you please help make her medical expenses one less thing she has to worry about?
