Update: The target amount has been reached! Thank you to all who donated! These funds will have him riding in style. I know he will be touched by all the love and generosity you have shared. Any funds past the targeted amount will be given to Steve and his family to use as needed.

Recently, our dearest Dr. Fulks was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This diagnosis is difficult, but has only slowed him down physically- his passion to teach and remain engaged has not changed.

Steve continues to join the Barton campus and Wilson community when he is feeling well, however walking long distances tires him out quickly. Conserving his energy is important so he can enjoy fuller days doing the things he loves.

As we share a desire to help and do what we can for Steve, one way we can help is by donating towards a portable motorized wheelchair. Insurance will likely pay for a fitted specialized wheelchair in the future, but for now he just needs something lightweight and portable to use when venturing from home and around campus. Any additional funds will be given to Steve and his family to use as they need.
