Funeral and Memorial for ZAY

On December 26th, 2024, My wife Jessica and I gave birth to our son Zayden Wayne Dixon. He was born premature at 35 weeks and with a rare kidney disease. He was not expected to survive beyond a couple of minutes if he was born alive at all but by the grace and mercy of God, he exceeded all the doctors' expectations and survived 17 days. We were told about a week before he passed that he was doing better than what doctors hoped for and that we were most likely looking at a long difficult road to recovery including a 6-9 month stay in the UCSF Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately things changed very quickly and he lost his fight due to internal bleeding and infection after having to remove one of his kidneys. Doctors repeatedly told us that his strength and fight was not only remarkable but pioneering because they were able to learn so much from his condition and that it would help to treat other children in his situation. He was born with a rare kidney disease called Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease (ARPKD) He spent his limited number of days in the Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco Intensive Care Unit. Where he stayed on a ventilator and dialysis catheter in his neck. Heartbreakingly on January 12 at 3:41 pm it became to much for his heart and Zay passed away in our arms. We are hoping to raise money to help give Zay the funeral and memorial he deserves. We want to raise about half of what we need for the funeral and to build out his burial site. Because he spent his entire life fighting and in pain his mother and I want to give a peaceful place to rest and for us to visit as well has have the opportunity in the future for all of us to be together again. Below is a few pictures of where his final resting place will be and the actual site that we have to build his memorial.  We know not everyone can always provide financial support, but if you read this, please say a prayer for our son ZAY and the rest of our family Thank you.
