September Update: Almost Nomad for Dad

Hello, friends.

I’m still in the Portland area, in a whirlwind of packing, bank fraud issues, and logistics. I'm so close to setting off that I can almost taste the freedom of the open road. Despite these setbacks, my determination is unwavering. Every delay keeps me from doing what I love most—teaching, sharing, and building my community. I’m eager to return to work, and I need your help now more than ever to make it happen.

In the last two and a half years, I’ve faced the rollercoaster of building my business, and I was finally finding some solid ground. But then, life threw the ultimate curveball—my father, mentor, and inspiration to thousands passed away. His loss shook me to the core, but it also pushed me to commit to continuing his legacy. I’m now transforming my life completely, trading a static dwelling for life on the road in “Rolling Turtle,” my 2014 Crosstrek, turning it into a mobile documentary and teaching platform.

This journey is about much more than just me. It’s about honoring a man whose wisdom touched countless lives, about sharing the story of a movement that he ignited—one of reconnection to the Earth and each other and the simple skills that empower us to live in harmony with the land. With my car equipped as a rolling classroom and documentary studio, I’ll be traveling to interview those who have taken my father’s teachings to heart, and I’ll be visiting the places that held deep significance for him. I want to ensure his voice, stories, and legacy live on.

The past month has brought challenges that have tested my patience, finances, and resilience. After facing fraudulent charges and trying to simplify my life into a Subaru, I've never been closer to the next chapter, but I'm still just short of entirely making this dream a reality. Your support could make all the difference right now. It will help me hit the road, finish my father’s tribute, and bring ancestral skills to people across the country.

Thank you for being a part of this journey. If you can contribute, you’ll help me move forward and continue my father’s mission to reconnect us all with the natural world.

With gratitude,
T3

After 2 1/2 years of navigating the challenges of building my business, I was finally beginning to see growth and momentum. But life threw an unexpected curveball—my father, mentor and guiding light to tens of thousands, passed away last week at the age of 74.

If you ever had the privilege of knowing my father, you understand just how magical he was. His passion for teaching ancestral living skills, nature connection, and the way of the caretaker was unmatched. I’ll never forget the time he spoke at the Smithsonian Institute. He had the audience in his hand for four hours, moving them from laughter to tears and back again. If anyone knew how to "read a room," it was my father.

When I first began teaching, I struggled to articulate what came naturally to me—skills I learned as a child by watching, duplicating, and experimenting. I’ll always remember my first lecture on the throwing stick, one of my favorite tools, and how I struggled to put into words the mechanics of using your body to generate the force needed to move from a standstill to harvest a small animal humanely.
Then, my father gave me the best advice a teacher could ever receive: “Don’t teach to one student or a group—teach to the class as a single organism.” That wisdom transformed me as an educator, writer, and photographer.

As I move out of my tiny dwelling and into my Subaru Crosstrek, I’m embarking on a journey to transform my car into a mobile documentary/ live broadcast studio—the vehicle I will use to create a tribute to my father’s life and legacy. My first stop is California, where I’ll interview Jon Young and work on a separate documentary project. As I travel, I’ll be teaching classes at a low rate since I'll be all over the country for extended periods and interviewing those who have taken my father’s teachings and made them their own, impacting the world profoundly.

Also, my father once gave me a list of places that held deep significance for him, places where he had profound experiences, and I was made to promise I would go. This documentary will include those locations as I strive to tell the story of a man whose influence has touched many lives, including mine. It’s not just about him or me—it’s about a movement that I hope will one day reach a critical mass and change the way we treat our only home, the Earth.
With Starlink on the roof of my car, I can teach online classes as I travel. You might catch me in Moab for one session and in Arkansas for the next—who knows where this journey will take me? I’m slowly emerging from the haze of grief, but I’m committed to continuing my father’s mission, teaching until my final walk, and honoring his legacy through this documentary.

Thank you for considering supporting this project. Your contribution will help me share my father’s story and keep his teachings alive for generations.

Here is the original part of my roof. If you want to learn a little bit more about the other work I'm trying to do.

Hi all! I am Tom Brown III, also known as "T3." I am a professional photographer, lifelong student, practitioner, and teacher of ancestral living skills, animal tracking, nature connection, and nature photography.
Here’s what your support (and nearly my health) has helped me achieve so far since I began this campaign

Growth in Business: My business has grown 290% year-to-date.
This June is the first month I would have made a profit if I did not have the little bit of debt that I do
My business knowledge is now 100 times greater than it was this time last year.

New Website: This time tomorrow, I will officially launch a new website focusing on the new me and ensuring my students get the best possible experience. You can go view it at www.trackolytes.com wish I could've figured this new system out two years ago it would've saved me so much time and stress

Booked Classes: Secured and completed classes in various states. I've also branched out into commercial photography, which is my latest reason for going to Alaska with more interest every day as I have turned over management of my art through a place that builds and maintains your website for you for a small portion of your sales if you want to check that out head over to www.T3-Photography.com

Continued Education: Enrolled in and completed online business classes.

Network Building: Met new people who have become close friends and invaluable contacts.

Financial Stability: This is the rough one. After putting all my eggs in one basket, I entered my current situation only to realize there was no bottom. The initial funds helped me keep going by covering essential expenses.

I need a bit more assistance to fully implement this next phase of my business and personal growth. I have also managed to go from having zero credit to a score near 700, but, like wine, credit needs to age before it's worth anything.

However, I am running this second round of fundraising because, as an outdoor educator or professional photographer, I don't take full payment upfront. I take a deposit and get paid in full once the class is complete. A second round of funding will help me bridge the gap until all the booked classes are completed. Once that happens, my financial situation will stabilize.,
Everything from here on out is from my original campaign. I am waiting for a video to render, which I will be adding to this as soon as possible, as it felt right to show you all the premier before everyone else since you helped me get there. I will be forever grateful, and if I can help you in any way that is within my power to do so, I will also have to contact you. Thank you again. Stay tuned for the video. And if you haven't figured it out yet, here is the new website address.:
Let me know if you notice any errors or typos so I can correct them! This website will be much more than a place to book me for classes
or take any online courses. As such, I plan on building a valuable wiki-style resource for nature lovers and educators.

I believe the world needs my skills now more than ever. Teaching people to be more self-reliant by making tools from natural materials is vital in today's world. Walking into the woods and living a good life is true freedom, and this is what I offer you.

About Me and My Journey
I was born in New Jersey in 1978 and grew up learning ancestral skills from my father, Tom Brown Jr., founder of the world-renowned Tracker School. For the past 22 years, I've been passing on these skills and recently started FutureNature and T3Photography in Oregon. My website combines my passion for reconnecting people to the natural world through education and photography.

My driving force is to lead people back to nature, helping them learn about the beings we share the planet with and the skills our hunter-gatherer ancestors used. I don’t take days off or vacations because I am committed to building a legacy that promotes a nature-based lifestyle. However, I am only one person, and I have a chronic illness that limits my capacity.

### The Importance of Your Support
For most of human history, we lived in harmony with nature. I aim to dispel the myth that humans and nature are adversaries and return to a time of mutual respect and understanding. Despite significant business growth, I need more capital to continue my education and, most importantly, to take a breather.

I have Lyme disease, which has severely impacted my health. The stress has caused me to lose 20 pounds, and I need a pacemaker and possibly a valve replacement in the next ten years. Your support will allow me to:

- **Continue My Education:** Take more business classes to improve my skills.
- **Hire Help:** Employ a part-time assistant to handle behind-the-scenes work.
- **Focus on Core Activities:** Teach classes, write, create, design, and run programs without distraction.
- **Finish Projects:** Complete my books and produce beautiful photos and videos.
xpand complement my Wilderness Survival Masterclass.
- **Build a Community:** Establish relationships with organizations for collaboration classes.

Testimonials from My Students
- *"My boyfriend and I took a multi-day wilderness survival class from Tom last year and learned invaluable skills. Tom is extremely passionate about sharing his wealth of knowledge, giving us an experience we will never forget."* - Erika and Jerry
- *"I took a week-long survival class with Tom Brown III. He taught me unforgettable skills. My peers and I are forever grateful for T3's teaching. One of the best primitive skills teachers ever."* - Pac

### Private Classes, Workshops, and Mentoring Sessions
I have found it tough to fill classes on my schedule lately, but there is high demand for private lessons. I enjoy these one-on-one settings as they allow us to accomplish more efficiently. I offer regular online mentoring, on-site teaching, or personalized sessions tailored to your interests.

### Other Ways to Help
Running a one-person operation is challenging. I need help with website design, business management, and other backend tasks. I am seeking anyone willing to become a partner in FutureNature, ideally someone with business knowledge and funds to invest.

### Final Thoughts
If you believe in the healing power of nature and want to support my mission, please consider donating. Your contribution will help me build a sustainable and healthy business. If you can't donate, sharing my social media posts would be immensely helpful.

Thank you for your support and for helping me restore our species to living naturally while surviving in the modern world.

Much love, thanks, and praises,

T3
