Combating Covid through Digital Education
Tax deductible
GCC is organizing this fundraiser to ensure that our students in the Greater Kruger area have access to conservation education, even when schools are closed due to COVID.
Please donate or share our story to help over 7,000 children continue learning.
Over the past year, GCC has encountered a challenge in the face of COVID: Accessing the students in our environmental education programs during periodic school closures. Each time a school shuts down, we risk students falling behind on their curriculum, losing out on opportunities to document their learning, and even losing interest or dropping out of our program. Students will fall even further behind, widening the gap between wildlife and the communities on which that wildlife depends.
When schools close, students, teachers AND wildlife lose. GCC is ready to jump in with mobile efforts to ensure that students don't miss out on critical learning.
This is where we need your help!
With the right equipment and materials, we will be able to reach 3x as many students as we did pre-covid, without closing schools creating a barrier. This GoFundMe will allow us to provide experiences, lessons and even computer literacy and leadership training to learners across the western border of Kruger, unlimited by school schedules, which will change over 7,000 childrens' lives! Your donation will go towards technology and a mobile classroom, transportation and support for our teachers, providing expeditions into the national park for our students, and more, to ensure they are not forgotten or left behind. Our goal is $50,000, with a generous donor matching up to $25,000. This is only $3 per child!
All donations made before June 7th and up to $25k will be matched dollar for dollar...this means that anything you donate will be doubled!
GCC is a 501c3 nonprofit working to bridge the gap between wildlife and communities. GCC conserves wildlife by engaging with the communities, particularly youth, who live alongside that wildlife in Greater Kruger National Park. We provide youth with conservation education, experiences and mentorship to add value around wildlife.
Double your gift: Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to a generous donor!
Thank you so much for your help and generosity,
The GCC team and the youth of Kruger National Park
