Dear Family , Friends and possibly those I have never met,
Jackson and Gina
This is one of the toughest things I have ever done, however through encouragement and the blessing of those around me I am creating a GoFundMe Account to assist my son and I during this very difficult time.
It's been one heck of a ride over the past two years and I never ever dreamed I would end up here. I am the one who is always working with people to assist them in their daily lives, never the person who needs assistance.
My very short marriage fell apart with him ending up embezzling over $20,000 from our accounts leaving me broke and struggling. The divorce finally went through and then my job was cut because of a mistake that was made in the budget. I have been able to do substitute teaching and odd jobs for family and friends to make it through the past four months. However what I am facing right now puts me in a horrible quandary.
My family and close friends have been nothing but supportive and our gracious God has been such a blessing to me. However now I am horribly scared.
Back in November my best friend was diagnosed with kidney failure. I began a mission to be her donor, working out so I could be in the best physical shape as possible to donate my kidney. During this process I was seeing all my health professionals making sure I was in a healthy condition and would make the perfect candidate.
Along the way my health checkup required a mammogram, we had no clue that anything would be wrong, however the doctors discovered 6 masses in my breasts that must be removed. The General Surgeon highly recommends a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. This is my second battle with cancer!!!
So here we go. On June 17th I will have a major surgery to remove all of my breast tissue and four lymph nodes. The reconstruction process will then begin. I will be unable to drive or lift anything heavier than a fork and they keep warning me about the amount of pain I will be in.
I will be unable to even hunt for employment and this is expected to last 3-4 months. I have a wonderful support system however no one that can take on financing another household.
People keep asking me how they can help us, this is where you come in. Any amount of money that you can donate will allow Jackson and I to keep our house, electricity, water, vehicle etc. We are not flamboyant people as our total monthly expenses are only $1500 a month.
We pray through the kindness and generosity of others that we can make it through this very difficult time. No amount is too small……trust me I have given $1 to people before and it made all the difference in the world…….thank you for your consideration……
