- Tragedy struck on Monday June 24, 2024 in the Maroldo household. Gail, Tony's amazing wife, fell out of her attic onto the cement breaking her foot, her femur, her hip, her shoulder and everything encompassing the shoulder, bones in her back, two of her fingers and her toes. They took her to St. Michaels and immediately transported her to Harborview in Seattle. She has had 2 surgeries at the same time that took 10 hours to fix her foot, her femur and her hip with wires, plates, bolts and screws. The third surgery was the spinal surgery that took about 6 hours where they cut her all the way down her back. She is an incredible lady and is the favorite patient of all of the nurses, but she is in alot of pain. It is so hard to watch a caretaker become the one needing care; used to being the baker, a wonderful mom, a caring grandma and the most amazing wife to Tony to restlessly lying in a hospital bed. Gail will be in Harborview for at least 3 weeks and then will be transferred to a rehab facility for an unknown amount of time to regain her strength and mobility. Tony is by her side and will be until she is brought home. This is a difficult time for the family, but hopefully with all of our help, they can get through this. The money will be spent helping pay for her substantial medical bills totalling over $460,000. Thank you for any donation and please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
