I will try to briefly tell you a little more about the children and the foundation.

And please do not let the currency scare you away from helping, I explain everything a little further down the page, follow me here and you'll understand .
If there is anything you find unclear, please do not hesitate to contact me by using the contact button below.
Now back to the presentation...

Galaxy Foundation 256 is a Community-Based Organization (CBO) found in Uganda, East Africa.
It has now existed for over six years and has changed many children’s lives who are orphans from the streets through dancing and singing.
But it is a constant struggle for the Foundation to meet all the children's daily needs.

Uganda is very unstable politically, children in need of help are increasing and prices are rising.
Government support is non-existent, and the foundation are left to fend for themselves.

The expenses are many, food, rent, electricity, clothes, shoes, diapers, toiletries, girls needs, school supplies, school fees, the list goes on.... everything children need to get by in life.

Doctors and medicines are a big and recurring cost.
We all know with children how often it can be needed and with so many children infections spread easily and often, and diseases are numerous in Africa.

And we must not forget that there are a lot of small children in the Foundation, even if they are not seen so often online.
It is the oldest children who make dance videos and online shows.

We can all see that Galaxy Foundation has built something great here to keep current children of the streets and out of trouble, and hopefully they can also help more in the future.
By working together, creating different activities such as sports, dancing and singing, they have also created a great community and a huge sense of belonging.

The kids now have an outlet for all their energy, thoughts and ideas positively through their creativity.
And now they share their talents, love and joy with us through social media.
I would say that it has probably been absolutely crucial for them to cope.

The children work hard both with everyday chores that need to be done, and it is a lot with so many children and poor living conditions.
They grow what they can and have room for and the children also take on all the chores they can find which can give small money or some extra food.
I can imagine that it is not easy to find such chores when the area is full of children and young people trying to earn something or get some rice or beans as payment.

They have the will, joy, passion and a rarely seen fighting spirit and the manager work very hard together with the children to try to achieve a sustainable future for the kids and the foundation.

They just need a little help from us. I think it would take a big burden off the children's shoulders and also give them time to focus on school work.

This fundraiser is created to ensure these children's basic needs and a place in school and to enable them to stay in school and complete their education.
Every single penny you donate will make a big different here, and nothing is too small to share.

Education is so incredibly important and something they need in their future, and their way out of poverty.
It is a gift we can help them with that no one can take away from them, a gift for life.
They are going to need it in their backpack when they can leave the foundation at the age of 18, and it is something who still is with them even if the music stops and the show ends.
And yes education is the big main goal here, but the money will of course be used for basic necessities and medical care if needed.

If you would like to support an individual child then of course, everything can be arranged just let us know and we will organise it.

There are many orphans suffering on the streets of Kampala who need help and adult support, but this means increased costs that are difficult to meet.
With our support, we hope they can continue to help more children in the future.

Currently, the foundation tries to help by sharing meals with hungry children from the streets when they can.
They also, if they can, do collections for food and daily needs for some special days for example Christmas and community day.
Then they share further with those who are most vulnerable, children, elderly, single mothers who are struggling very hard.
And these are the events we sometimes can see on pictures and videos, when they are sharing with more people

Who am I then, and how do you know that this is a safe way to donate?

My name is Ulrica Lindberg and I live in northern Sweden.
I came into contact with these amazing kids more than 2 years ago, and I have been in daily contact with them since then.

It was just after Covid and the schools had just reopened after being closed for almost 2 years.
There was a shortage of food, clothes, shoes, everything was in short supply.
I helped with the little I could, money for some beans and rice from time to time, and also sent some clothes.

I learned that many of the children had not been able to return to school because of the economy, and the children were very worried that they would not be able to go back and finish school before they were too old.
At that time, only 5 out of 25 school-age children attended school.

I then decided to at least do what I could, and that was to help one back, but I thought, better to help one than none.
But I felt such sadness for the others and decided to start this fundraiser and kindly ask all of you out there for a little help.

Fortunately, things have improved over the past year and more and more children have been able to start school, but we still need to raise money so that they can stay in school and complete their education.

I have always received receipts for the expenses made and receipts and grades from the school and photo evidence through our daily video calls, so I have seen that the money goes to what their manager says.

I have opened a bank account in their name so that no mistakes are made and so that I can present clear evidence if anyone doubts.
Furthermore, I will also make updates on the page as soon as I have something to tell you.
You can always ask me questions by the contact button below.
I am posting links below to the foundation's Instagram if you want to contact and ask about me.
I also add a link to my own Instagram if you want to get a little idea of what kind of person I am.

Don't let the currency scare you from donating. Since I live in Sweden, I have to have it in Swedish money to make it work with the transfer from GoFundMe to their account.

7. Quick facts about school in Uganda.

1. In Uganda, school starts at the age of 6.

2. The school year starts at the end of January or beginning of February and has 3 semesters.

3. Most children only attend primary education, which is 7 years.

4. In Uganda, 67% of pupils complete primary school.
Only 25% continue school after primary school

5. The class sizes are large, often 70-150 students per class, which is a problem for learning.

6. The age of students in Ugandan classes varies greatly, for example students in grade 3 can be between 7-16 years old.

The reasons can be that a pupil have to repeat classes because it is difficult to learn in such large classes, or not being able to pay school fees, or in other cases children coming from the street and not having attended school before.

7. Primary school is supposed to be free, but a small fee is often charged anyway.
They have to pay for all the school materials themselves, such as books, paper, pencils and so on, and most often school uniforms are required so in the end, school isn't free.

If you want to get a little idea of prices in Uganda, you can take a look at this page. You have to scroll around and search a bit, but still get a small idea of what things might cost like rice , beans, bread and so on.

This was a lot of text , thank you so much for taking time to read it to the end .
Many greetings from me/Ulrica
