Support Opera Singer, Galilei, away from home base in Canada

I am Galilei Uajenenisa Njembo, an aspiring operatic tenor from Namibia, and a recent graduate of McGill University's Schulich School of Music. I will receive my Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance with a minor in Music Composition this May and I have been offered a scholarship to commence Master's in Voice and Opera this Fall at the Schulich School of Music.

This April, I was invited to perform in recital with up-and-coming mexican pianist, Rachid Bernal. This concert took place at the Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City. That same evening, my personal belongings were stolen leaving me stranded in Mexico City. Despite the support from my partners and their friends, I am left with no travel documents (passport, visa, etc.) and cannot return to Montreal, Canada where I am currently based. Right now, I plan to return to Namibia where I can quickly replace my passport and thereafter return to Canada.

It has been several weeks and I have not recevied much correspondence regarding my emergency travel document from the Namibian Embassy in Washington DC (there is no embassy in Mexico). Whilst I am able to work remotely, the large portion of my income is from performing. I am forced to opt out of several performances/gigs (chorale performances as part of the Nathaniel Dett Chorale and solo gigs) in Montreal, Toronto and surroundings.

Due to this, I am reaching out for financial assistance to aid me during this stressful time. The funds raised would be used directly to cover the various application and courier fees, the flight rebooking (from Mexico, to Namibia, and then to Canada), and replacing some of my personal belongings which I used mostly for work. Excuding my travel documents, these belongings include the following items:

1. iPad Pro (12.9") and apple pencil (with a cover and keyboard) containing personal images, and a large collection of music scores

2. JBL Noise Cancelling Headphones

3. Apple Wallet

4. Samsonite Backpack

5. Brita Water Bottle

6. Some clothing items (I brought very few clothes with me since I only intended to stay for one week)
