Gemma, Joe & baby Aria

Gemma & Joe are currently going through every parent's worst nightmare. Their beautiful daughter Aria was born on 21st October last year, weighing 7lbs. Gemma and Joe discovered Aria had a severe liver condition within the first couple of months. Over Christmas, she underwent a major operation, hoping to repair her liver. However, unfortunately, there was still a chance that Aria would require a liver transplant futher down the line, and they were faced with regular visits to the hospital for tests/check-ups.

Gemma & Joe were due to get married in Zante, Greece, in June 2021, but due to COVID restrictions, they postponed. This year, they had to consider Aria's health and doctors' advice and decided to rearrange their wedding. They had a beautiful wedding day in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Within the first few days of newly wedded bliss, Aria fell ill, and they were rushed to Kings Hospital in London. They were given the devasting news that Aria had a bleed on her stomach and she would require a liver transplant urgently as her liver was now failing.

They were dealt another blow during routine checks to ensure Aria was healthy enough to endure a liver transplant. They found an issue with her heart and were told the daunting news that Aria would require heart surgery before they could perform the much-needed liver transplant.

I initially set up this GoFundMe as a surprise to Gemma and Joe to alleviate some of the stress they are under by raising money for them to use on whatever they need during this time. They are now aware of this page and are immensely grateful for all the donations and well wishes they have received.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read little Aria's story.
