Gerald's Medical Expense Fund
Donation protected
Gerald Lehr (Jerry) is in need of your support.
On July 20, 2016 Jerry was diagnosed with stage 2B pancreatic cancer.
On August 5, 2016 he underwent a 7 1/2 hour Whipple surgery, which is a very invasive and dangerous surgery. The surgeon removed the head of the pancreas, duodenum, gallbladder, bile duct, pylorus, and part of the stomach.
On August 15, 2016 Jerry was released from the hospital to recover at home. It has been a constant battle of pain management, nutrition, and trying to get his strength back.
On September 29, 2016 he began the 6 month chemotherapy journey, which consists of infusion chemo treatments 1x/week, and oral chemo treatment pills 6x/day.
The treatments can cause very strong side effects, such as blistering of the mouth, hands, and feet, diarrhea, loss of appetite, and severe fatigue.
Jerry has been out of work since July and is on reduced/disability pay. The bills from the hospital, surgery, and now the extensive chemotherapy treatments, are starting to add up, which is making this difficult time even more stressful.
The family decided to create this fund in order to help with his medical expenses. Any amount of support would be greatly appreciated, and will help more than you can imagine.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this page, and for any support that you can provide.
