84.9km ultra marathon - Lets Get Bali Clean Again!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Daan, 21 years old and living for almost 2 years on the beautiful island of Bali.
Without any running experience and only 2 months of training I throw myself in the deep in the biggest challenge of my life.
On May 17 I will run an Ultramarathon from Lovina to Canggu with a total length of 84.9km.
The run will start at 8 pm and will cross the whole island of Bali. I will go over hills, a volcano, broken roads, areas with wild monkeys, and all this in the middle of the night.
I have 2 reasons why I am doing this challenge.
We all have that little voice in our head that is keeping us in our comfort zone.
My believe is that if we try new things, work hard, and believe in our goals, we can do amazing things in all areas of our lives.
I am going to prove to you that your only limitation is your own imagination.
The second reason for me is Bali.
The first time I went to Bali my plan was to go for 3 months. Ending up 2 years and still driving around enjoying every minute of it.
The gratefulness, the openness of the people & the beautiful places make this place something different.
But there is another side of Bali...
The plastic trash is everywhere. It is on the roads, in the rice fields, on the beaches, in the rivers, and in the ocean. This plastic trash has a huge negative impact on the beauty of Bali.
Although it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, there is.
It is called Sungai Watch.
Sungai Watch is an environmental charity in Bali. Its primary goal is to clean the region's rivers by setting up barriers that significantly reduce the amount of plastic reaching the ocean.
The organization collects this plastic, sorts it, and manages it efficiently.

My goal in this challenge is to raise $10,500 (€9.950) to build barriers across the island:
- This money will cover the cost of installing and maintaining 3 barriers for a year and will guarantee the removal of at least 1,500+ kg of plastic.
- The money will also ensure that each piece of trash is responsibly processed.
- If that's not enough, the money will also go towards hosting outreach sessions and providing community awareness.
As Sungai Watch seeks to install 1,000 barriers throughout Indonesia's most polluted rivers, your donation will help them achieve their mission one barrier at a time.
And to make this project already a success,
My best friend Thomas and I already donated $6000 to build the first barrier that will remove a minimum of 1500kg of plastic each year
This is on top of the new donations meaning my goal is to get 4 barriers placed.
✅ Floater Trash Barrier (6000$)
✅ 1 Mini-Floaters (3500$)
⏳2 Mini-Floaters (3500$)
⏳3 Mini-Floaters (3500$)
All of the donations will be 100% donated to Sungai Watch.
Your support for this amazing charity will help us achieve our goal. I really appreciate your help.
Every dollar will make a difference
Terima kasih
