Help Girl Scouts build a Therapy Garden!
Donation protected
The Girl Scouts of Troop 3010 are creating a bee-friendly Therapy Garden at Medicine Horse (Equine Therapy organization) in Boulder. For the 16'x27' garden, the girls will build 2 corner benches conducive to conversation and connection, create multiple smaller garden spaces with all bee-friendly, low-water pollinator plants, build 4 bird houses and install a stone walk way for contemplation and reflection. Girls will include signs highlighting bee education, as well as motivational and inspirational words to support mental health.
Each $10 donation will sponsor stepping stones for the path.
Each $25 donation will sponsor the materials for a bird house.
Each $50 donation will sponsor a bee-friendly plant, shrub or bush.
Each $75 donation will sponsor an educational sign for the garden.
Each $100 donation will sponsor the infrastructure (mulch, brick) for the smaller pollinator gardens.
Each $250 donation will sponsor a wooden corner buddy bench, including a plaque with the wording of your choice.
Each $400 donation will sponsor a native Colorado tree.
$1050 will cover the at-cost purchase and installation of a horse sculpture by Colorado artist, Monte Mischner of Equuscreations.
Any additional donations will go towards improved irrigation to the garden.
The girls were inspired by their combined passions of bees, horses, birds and creating a space for mental health in light of pandemic struggles and the mass shooting in Boulder. They will earn their silver awards, the 2nd highest award in Girl Scouts, upon completion of the therapy garden.
Medicine Horse offers free and low cost equine-assisted therapy to veterans and soldiers, women with cancer, first responders, teens struggling with substance abuse, identity and esteem and those facing abuse, neglect, grief, loss and addiction.
Special thank you to Wild Heritage Gardens and Design for their guidance and support.
