The 8th Grade Gladiator's Trip to Vegas!

In 2008, a group of boys from the Widefield community assembled into a community center basketball team coached by one of the boy's father, Mark Munoz. They started off looking like the Bad News Bears, gawky, uncoordinated, and barely able to shoot a basketball. Losing by 40 points was a norm for the Gladiators. Years went by and more boys joined the squad. Improvement was becoming evident in the lessening score gaps, and soon, the Gladiators even began to win.

Before long, losing by 40 was a distant memory and winning by 40 became more of a norm. In the recent years, the Gladiators have faced off against many rivals and other worthy competitors, clinching over 6 tournament championships. While the Gladiator boys have come a long way, a few things have stayed the same. Their hunger to win; their humbleness; their friendship; and their love for the game has remained constant.

Next year, the boys will be going off to high school. In order to celebrate their humble beginnings and hard work they've put in to get to this point, the team has decided to play in one last tournament in Las Vegas. This trip will symbolize the last time the whole Gladiator team will play together. This page is set up to assist the families of the Gladiators in getting the boys to Vegas for one last tournament.
