Help Zyla Nyahay Explore New Cancer Treatments

 Hi! My name is Lauren Schlander and I’m fundraising on behalf of Zyla Nyahay, my best friend, class of 2019 John Burroughs High School graduate, and beloved drama student.  Zyla has been an active member of SAG-AFTRA for 7 years and was diagnosed in November 2020 with Stage Four Fibrolamellar Carcinoma, an extremely rare cancer of the liver that only occurs in healthy young individuals. The cancer is so rare that it is almost completely unstudied, leaving the Nyahay family to resort to treatments that only work half the time. She has been in and out of the hospital for just over a year and has done procedure after procedure, which have all been unsuccessful and leave her with no further treatment options. We are here raising money to support the family in any medical bills, new treatments, or clinical trials that may come about, and to give them some much needed financial stability to focus on spending time with Zyla as much as they can during this difficult time. The money raised will help give peace of mind to the family and possibly give them more options to explore treatments.

 

We will be asking the community to get together for an unforgettable Magic Show fundraiser, featuring four magicians from the world famous Magic Castle here in Hollywood, on February 12, 2022 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank to continue to raise funds for the family.
