Golf For Lauren's Surgery
Donation protected
In April of 2014 my 26 year old daughter Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer. As most would expect, the news was horrifying, but through the grace of GOD we knew that she was going to get through this chapter in her life, as did her mother, Chris 10 years earlier.
My wife and I have been together for 30 years this September, and our journey of faith, pointed us back to her cancer, as a way of helping and guiding Lauren through her fight.
I am happy to say that Lauren and her mother are both cancer free!!
But cancer is an ongoing battle, and unfortunately the ongoing battle has costs. While Lauren is blessed to have health insurance, there are out of pocket costs that are not covered.
Last year Lauren had a double mastectomy, 16 weeks of chemo, followed by a full regiment of radiation.
Lauren's friends sponsored a ChemoPolooza party, and her Uncle Jeff raised money thru our local golf group selling golf balls and Birdies for Lauren.
On July 16 Lauren will enter into her last chapter of healing, when she undergoes her reconstruction surgery. As stated earlier, there will be out of pocket costs that the insurance company will not pick up.
I want to thank all those generous people that help defer Lauren's cost last year, and reach out again as she puts the final dagger in cancer.
I am going to play golf for Lauren. On July 17, after Lauren's surgery my goal is to play 108 holes of golf in ONE DAY.
I would ask you to consider sponsoring a gift per hole. A gift of .25 cents, $1 or whatever you feel comfortable with. My goal is to play 108 holes, but if I can do more I will.
Maybe you would just like to donate; any amount would be a blessing to my daughter.
My brother has agreed to film my progress during the day, and we will be posting here and on Facebook.
I want to Thank SummerGrove Golf Course in Newnan, GA. for allowing me to play speed golf on July 17.
