Help Grandpa Dave Build Tiny House
Donation protected
Hi, I’m David Manning. I am a retired carpenter, almost 74 years old. I was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised two daughters in Eugene, Oregon, who have blessed me with four sweet little grandchildren. These days I spend most of my time helping my kids raise my grandkids, because I can and because I want to. I am blessed to be in great shape and plan on living for a long time. My cup runs over and I know it.
For fifty years, since I left Nebraska for Oregon in a converted schoolbus, I have dreamed of building a tiny house. Today, thanks to the generosity of my kids, my best friend Chuck and so many other loved ones, I am over half of the way finished.
The problem is this – I’ve spent all of my life savings, and I am now completely out of money. And so I ask you to help me finish this tiny house.
It will cost me $4,500 to get this house ready to live in. However, you don’t have to give that much in order to help. Here’s how a smaller gift can make a difference.
$1,000 will pay for the entire kitchen.
$500 will help me finish the plumbing, or put in the electricity safely, or get all the doors and windows installed.
$300 will finish the drywall, $200 will finish the insulation.
Can’t give that much? No problem.
$100 pays for the closet, $80 pays for my kitchen sink, and $50 pays for all the wall sockets and switches, or the ceiling lights.
In other words – everything you give goes to an important piece of my tiny house – and helps me fulfill my dream of living a simpler life.
I can’t offer much in exchange for your help. But you will have my undying gratitude, and always be welcome for a cup of coffee or a beer, and great conversation on the deck! Thank you for considering my request.
