82 Miles for Kids Football in Ordsall, Salford

I am Joe Ferries a serving soldier in the British Army for the past 19 years. I was born and raised on the Ordsall estate in the City of Salford.

 

I am fundraising to support two local kids football teams from my home town of Ordsall, Salford.

 

 

I am planning to complete The Oner - Rab’s Ultra Marathon on 9th/10th April 2022. This is an 82 mile ultramarathon across the brutal Jurassic Coast in Dorset which starts at Studland Bay and ends at Charmouth. It covers over 9000ft of elevation and has to be completed within 24 hours.

All money raised will be split between the two teams and will go a long way to supporting kids grassroots football in Salford.

On a personal note this event was named after my good friend WO2 Robert ‘Rab’ McAvoy who tragically took his own life in 2019. A keen runner and an immensely selfless man who was always looking at ways of supporting kids and local youth projects. I will be running in his memory throughout. I miss our runs and him dearly.
