Great Patty Osborn Project - Thank You

Dear GPOP Community contributors,
Thank you all so much for your generous support of the GPOP. It has been
a very hard time for Timmy and I and for many of you as well. We had a
beautiful mass at Our Lady of the Cape followed by a lovely celebration
of life luncheon at the Old Yarmouth Inn. I hope you got to join us.
The GPOP was a dream in the end. A hope that a miracle could be found.
Ultimately the cancer was simply too aggressive. Patty never was herself
once the procedures began and went into a steady and accelerating
decline. Patty was a proven fighter having beaten an earlier bout of
oral cancer. But this one was much worse and she simply could not
overcome it.
I miss her so I can't even express in words. Patty was my world. So the
earth has moved under my feet. The road forward is one of trying to find
my bearings. Who am I really? Patty made me a better man. Will I be able
to hold on to that? These are the challenges one faces when one gets to
this place. Doubt creeps in and has to be fought back. Everything seems
to be shifting under me and I want the world to be still. Even better,
put into reverse to get back to that earlier happy place. But the world
keeps spinning and time goes on.
But this is not all about me. It is about the great people that helped
in many ways. Not just those that gave through GoFundMe but those that
set up the GoFundMe in the first place, that sent lovely cards, found
the right size sheets for the hospital bed, gave us bathtub grab bars,
loaned a bath chair from the senior center, built a ramp that was never
to be used, put up our Christmas decorations, took down our Christmas
decorations, did our laundry, cooked a complete Thanksgiving dinner,
went grocery shopping for us, sent flowers, hot meals, deserts, candy,
fruits, a hug or just lent a shoulder to cry on. All of these
contributions were great. It is a tribute to Patty that so many people
came forward and lent a hand. It is like something you read about the
way the GPOP community came together.
OK... Now I'm starting to write too much. Well that is a signature GPOP
thing. So this is the GPOP sign off. Someday maybe we can resurrect GPOP
as an entity that will go on forever and help others. A little bit of
Patty will love and live on in perpetuity. Something to think about. It
gives me a warm feeling inside to think that might be possible. With
contributors like you... anything is possible.
Love to all,
Ozy
