Help a Child!

Dear Friends and Family!
Most of you know me and for those who don't know me, My name is Ashwin Narra. I am a 15 year old high school sophomore at the Hun School of Princeton located in central New Jersey. I was born in the USA on August 31, 2000 in New Jersey, and I am of Indian descent. My parents were born in India, and moved to the USA in 1997 to follow the American dream and start a beautiful family, which we have today.
In the winter of 2015, I went to India to visit my family. My grandparents took me to an orphanage home in a rather underprivileged part of Vijayawada where I got to spend some time with the kids. There are around 30 kids not knowing who their biological parents, were left as orphans at a very young age. Despite the challenges they face, every single one of these kids had a bright smile, a tremendous heart, and a great amount of respect to me and my family as we toured the facility and talked to the kids. These kids do not have parents to love and care for them, nor do they have extended family for support. It was a life-changing experience for me because it showed me how blessed and thankful I should be for having two wonderful parents, and a great family around me. So I decided to do something to help these kids.
My mission is simple: Raise as much money I can from family, friends, and well wishers for the orphanage home run by Child Aid Foundation located in Vijayawada, India. They are a foundation that supplies shelter, food, schooling, medical care, clothing, counseling, and wonderful caretakers for kids.
The C.A.F.’s mission statement is, “The main objective is to enable poor and needy children to pursue and complete their education to as high a level as they desire and are capable of achieving. To do this, Child Aid Foundation provides comprehensive aid and care to children, boys and girls, of all ages and academic levels on both a residential and non-residential basis.”

I have a younger brother who is 11 years old and is involved with my mission as well. To help C.A.F financially, I will be running in 5k and 10k runs in 2017 (Will update with more details closer to the date) and my brother will be walking/running in his school Runathon to raise money as well. I will be going to India during spring break to volunteer at the place.
I hope you extend your support to this wonderful cause! For that, I have started a Gofundme.com page to raise money to help further these kids’ education, health, and happiness. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated, and please spread the word, and share the link to friends and family!
Thanks,
Ashwin
