Hope For Sudbury Homeless Centre
Donation protected
HFS phase 1 is succesful! Our goal to facilitate the flow of donations from the public for delivery to those afflicted with Homelessness, Mental Health, and Addictions is in full operations. HFS is made up 100% of volunteers that run the day to day operations at the sorting stations with a common target to get the donations to the ones who need them most. We play a part in donating items downtown for the Medina Lane give-away that has grown to involve several independent groups of volunteers. We deliver items to shelters and warming stations on request, and we also extend this service to other agencies, bylaw officers on patrol, out-reach workers and other volunteers that assist in helping the less fortunate.
HFS phase 2 goal has begun! Operate a community based Over-Flow Warming Station at 19 Regent street. We look after taking in the homeless that can not access the shelters due to over capacity, where community volunteers will come together to care for the ones left behind.
HFS phase 3 will be to operate a community transitional home. More info will follow in the days and weeks ahead.
