Go Hairless for the Homeless

For the past eight years my partner, then girl friend now wife, Belili has been asking me to grow out my hair. After all this time I have finally relented and have not cut my hair since May 2023. I thought that while I'm letting my hair get wild and wooly, I that I should put it to good use and raise money for a worthy cause. I had thought of a few organisations that I could fundraise through, but wanted to keep the money as local as possible, which lead me to think of West Coast Youth and Community Support. WCYCS is the only generic homelessness support service in the area and with the current housing/rental crisis exacerbating an already difficult situation WCYCS needs all the support it can get.

Full disclosure, I am an employee of WCYCS, as such I have had discussion with my boss and we have agreed that all of the funds raised will go to the Homelessness Support Service to increase the support we can provide to the community, not to give anyone a little extra on their pay slip.

I decided that shaving my head and face wasn't going hairless enough, so to add spectacle to the event I have decided to add multiple Donation Milestones with a different body part being shaved with each milestone. See below for list.

Tier 1- $1,250: Moustache and Beard
Tier 2- $2,500: Feet and Toes
Tier 3- $3,750: Armpits
