Sarah Baldwin & Hannah Gaffney

On Saturday, October 21st, 2023, my dear friend Sarah Baldwin passed away, leaving behind a daughter, Hannah, her mother Cheryl and 3 siblings, all of whom are grieving deeply today.

Sarah and I met at a softball game in the mid-2000’s and it wasn’t long before we realized that we both had roots in Iceland and became instant best friends. Games at the time were 6 days a week so we hung out almost every day for the next 5 or 6 years and have remained devoted friends ever since. Sarah was such an amazing, charismatic, hilarious friend with wit for days. She could make me laugh even in the tough times. She was my favorite hair stylist and could make anyone’s hair look Perfect. I am devastated by her loss and miss her immensely already.

Her daughter, Hannah, wrote the following on her Facebook page today. “My beautiful and loved Mom joined Papa Larry in heaven this past Saturday. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel and I know she’s looking down on me. Please keep us in your thoughts during this time. I love you Mom and I promise I will make you proud ❤️”

I am setting up this GoFundMe page in oder to help Hannah and Cheryl cover funeral, burial, and other expenses relating to the tragic death of Sarah. I am hopeful that without the added financial burden that inevitably comes with a loss like this, they will be able to face the long road ahead with less stress than they would otherwise.
