Hello and thank you for stopping by!

Who we are: The Region 10 Har-Bur Middle School 5th Grade Odyssey of the Mind Team A. We placed 2nd at the 2016 Connecticut State Finals in Bristol CT on April 2. This victory qualifies us to compete in the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa beginning May 25 through May 29. We are a team of 6 students, 2 coaches and because we’re only 10 and 11 years old we need a few parent chaperones to come along. We will be representing the State of Connecticut in Division I Classical and Spontaneous competition.

Why This Is A Big Deal: Only a few will advance to World Finals — these teams represent the best of the best creative minds from the U.S. and around the world…Japan, Germany, Switzerland, China, Mexico, Poland and Singapore just to name a few. It is a huge honor to advance to World Finals. We are very excited to represent Har-Bur Middle School, the towns of Harwinton and Burlington and the State of Connecticut. Over 800 teams from around the world will compete in the 37th Odyssey of the Mind World Finals. The competition emphasizes creativity and teamwork and has grown into the largest international creative problem-solving competition worldwide.

What we need from you: Your support, primarily in the form of United States currency. Traveling to Iowa from Connecticut is expensive. Round trip airfare is $650+ per person. The lodging and meal package at World Finals is $615.00 per person. The cost of this “odyssey” is adding up quickly and we need your help to get there. Every dollar counts toward helping us reach our goal and our destination; the Odyssey of the Mind 2016 World Finals at Iowa State University, Ames Iowa. Thanks again for your time and support, we sincerely appreciate it!
