Help the Haugen’s: Bigger Family, Biggest Hearts
Hi, my name is Laura and I’m fundraising for my sister, Liz Haugen, and her family as they recently and unexpectedly welcomed new children into their family. Every cent received will be allocated to the children, and will help them structure their lives as they adjust to a new environment.
About the Family
Liz, her husband Wayne, and their three daughters moved to Clarksville, Tennessee last year. Liz and Wayne both work for a local church, and continue to open their hearts and their home to help others. This week, the Haugen family nearly doubled in size after taking in three children (ages 14, 11, and 10) through an emergency foster placement. The placement happened extremely quickly, leaving the family little time to prepare and acquire resources. While the Haugen house is overflowing with love, the children have some more immediate physical needs that the family is working hard to address. It takes some time for funding to come through the system, and the Haugen’s are committed to helping their new additions feel at home and supported as they navigate this transition.
How Funds Will Be Used
Some of the needs the family is working to provide are: beds/mattresses, linens/towels/bedding, school supplies, toiletries, organizational units, dressers, laundry baskets, and other items. Liz has also assembled an Amazon wish list (https://www.amazon.com/registries/custom/29UFVOGW6ZW2A/guest-view) if you prefer to help the family that way, but they also want to be able to provide the kids with some choice and ownership in picking out their items as they feel this will help the children acclimate.
Thank you for anything you are willing to provide to help my sister and her family as they faithfully walk through this new adventure! If you are not in a place where you can financially contribute, they will still appreciate your prayers and support. Thank you again!
Update: We have reduced the amount of the request due to donations received through Venmo and PayPal. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
