SUPPORT TRAUMA HEALING IN ISRAEL THROUGH TM

THE NEED

The October 7 attack has left thousands of Israelis devastated. We can barely conceive of the horrors they have experienced. And now they are living with the resulting mental damage…flashbacks, nightmares, night terrors, depression, anger, sleep disorders, and inability to move ahead with their lives. Adding to their trauma, over 60,000 Israelis from the Gaza area, have been moved temporarily to locations around Israel. Israeli mental health providers are completely swamped and unable to handle the thousands that need help.

A SOLUTION

Fortunately, there exists a program that can help. Extensive scientific research shows that the Transcendental Meditation (TM) program is as effective, if not more effective, than the best of the other treatments used for PTSD.

THE OFFER

The International Meditation Society of Israel is offering this program free of charge. TM teachers have already begun teaching displaced Israelis from the Gaza area. However, to continue to extend this help to the many who need it additional resources are needed.

THE FUNDING GOAL

To teach Transcendental Meditation to an estimated 600 people in the coming weeks $200,000 is needed. This funding will cover the cost of qualified TM instructors, necessary materials, and logistical expenses to reach out to the affected individuals. A detailed budget is available on request.

THE TM PROGRAM

The TM program begins with 4 consecutive days of in-person instruction of about 1.5 hours each day. For trauma victims, there is an intensive follow-up program of individual checking and group meetings for several months depending on each student’s need.
