Thank you for visiting the GoFundMe page for Healing Harry.
You really can't understand the depths of human strength & perseverance until you witness someone you care for go through cancer. To say that Harry and his family are anything but inspiring in their steadfast faith in God & love for one another would be inaccurate.
While we will all continue to shower the Corbin family with prayer, it's time to share Harry's full journey in hopes of a greater network of support to aid in his continued recovery. Here is Harry's story:
Harry was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in October of 2018. As many of you know, he is the oldest son of Colette and Michael, his siblings being Hayden, Mac and Hope. He has been a blessing from God to his family and many friends over the course of his life.
His amiable and carefree personality make him a friend to all whom he encounters. After his initial CML diagnosis, Harry was able to return home after several weeks in the hospital to forge ahead knowing his life would never be the same.
Most of us would have a hard time remaining positive knowing we had to manage CML for the rest of our life, but not Harry. His humble and resilient attitude set the stage for his new journey.
Despite positively responding to his chemo treatments to manage CML, Harry hit a bump in the road to his recovery on March 13th, 2019.
Harry was readmitted to the ER after having severe migraines and vomiting and it was soon discovered by his team of Doctors that Harry had a brain tumor. A treatment plan was quickly established and radiation treatments began in an effort to efficiently tackle this newly discovered tumor. Unfortunately, these treatments were just the beginning of Harry's 113 hospital stay.
A domino effect of 7 brain surgeries, in which part of his skull had to be removed. Eventually a skin graph and muscle transplant were required to assist in the healing of the skull removal and a permanent shunt was surgically installed in order for his brain fluid to drain. Soon after all of this, Doctor's gave Harry an additional diagnosis to his CML and diagnosed him Acute Myeloid Leukemia in his spinal fluid.
Given all of the surgeries, days in the hospital and the diagnosis of both CML and AML, you may be assuming it would be tough to continue staying positive, and you would be correct. But Harry has continued to stay strong in his faith and will to fight to get his health and life back one day at a time.
It is at this point we have decided it is necessary to reach out for help. Any donation, small or large will be a huge help in paying for medical costs, medications, nursing assistance and other necessary requirements for him to complete this journey towards wellness. We have been blessed with family, friends, and an uplifting community that has held our whole family in prayer, meals, and love. We will forever be grateful to those who have helped us through this difficult time and we will continue on this journey with Harry filled with the knowledge that God holds all of us in the palm of His hand.
