HEART Repertory Theatre needs support

 

We established a community theatre company in Kenmore, and Woodinville Washington: Heart Repertory Theatre. But we must continue to raise funds to prepare the house for stage lights and equipment to continue our mission of live theatre. Unfortunately, we lost our request for a 4-culture grant, leaving us looking for more ways to raise funds.

Heart Repertory’s mission is to engage, inspire, entertain and challenge audiences with productions that support our local talent in all forms of theater, including virtual and live stage work. We produce shows that range from the classics to new work and create art despite an ever-changing theatrical climate. We will train and support the integrity of our artistic staff, and locally, we support the diverse community in Eastside theater youth educational programs, promoting the importance of the arts and life-long learning. Finally, we celebrate the essential power of theatre to illuminate our shared humanity.

We also welcome and provide an avocational opportunity for volunteers interested in the theatre arts to participate in the many activities of community theatre. We also train and support theatre professionals' artistic and financial integrity and promote and support the diverse local community of theatre youth educational programs to teach the importance of the Arts and lifelong learning.

During 2020 and early 2021, when the live theatre was closed down by the pandemic, Heart Repertory produced online streaming video versions of the Golden Age and original radio programs. This was our way to give actors a vehicle to expand their abilities and perform while sheltering at home. In addition, it revealed a collaborative, enthusiastic group ready for the next step: Heart Repertory’s live productions in the Greater Seattle Eastside. We have produced 5 live theatre pieces since 2022. And are in our 2024 season right now. Our next production is Agnes of God performing in Woodinville Washington.
