Help Reunite Baby Laya with Her Father Amidst War

Dear friends and compassionate souls,

This is Noor. A Palestinian mother of a 2-year-old baby.

In the photo, you can see my daughter 'Laya' and my husband 'Mohammed'. This was the latest picture I took of them together on the same day we traveled, Laya and I, for work purposes and to visiting relatives outside of Gaza, Palestine.

Originally, we didn't plan to be away from Mohammed for more than a month. However, we were caught off guard by the start of the war in Gaza and the subsequent closure of the border crossings. As a result, we found ourselves stuck in Egypt. We couldn't return, and Mohammed couldn't come to us due to the hefty $5,000 travel tax per person from Gaza to Egypt.

It has been more than 7 months now, and we continue to wait for any glimmer of hope to bring an end to the conflict and reunite with Mohammed. We left him in Gaza when our daughter 'Laya' was not even two years old. She celebrated her birthday without him, and she's grown, now expressing herself in words and forming phrases, while Mohammed, her father, remains distant.

Today, I'm reaching out to ask for your help in securing the travel funds for my husband 'Mohammed' and his old mother, who lost her husband due to the war, totaling $10,000 ($5,000 for each person).

This is crucial for us to escape the ongoing war, especially after we lost our home due to bombing in the northern Gaza. We're hopeful for a new beginning and a peaceful reunion with Mohammed.

لقد كان من المقرر ألا نبتعد عن محمد أكثر من شهر واحد

لكننا فوجئنا ببدء الحرب على غزة وإغلاق المعابر الحدودية، وبالتالي أصبحنا عالقتين في مصر

لم نستطع العودة، ولم يستطع هو السفر إلينا، بسبب الضريبة المالية المفروضة للسفر والبالغة حاليا 5 آلاف دولار للشخص الواحد

مضى على ذلك أكثر من 7 شهور، ولا زلنا ننتظر أي فرصة لوقف الحرب أو لمّ شملنا

تركنا محمد، وليا لم تكاد تكمل العامين، احتفلت بعيد ميلادها بعيدة عنه، وكبرت وأصبحت تعبّر بالكلمات وتكوّن الجمل، ولا يزال محمد بعيدًا عنا.

واليوم، أطلب مساعدتكم لنا في تأمين مبلغ السفر لمحمد، ووالدته التي فقدت زوجها خلال الحرب، والبالغ 10 آلاف دولار (5 آلاف لكل شخص)، من أجل النجاة من الحرب المستمرة، وذلك بعد أن فقدنا منزلنا نتيجة القصف في منطقة شمال غزة، على أمل أن نبدأ حياة جديدة ونجتمع مع محمد بسلام.
