Help Two Refugee Families Establish New Lives

Hi my name is Ahmed and I am the first cousin of the person/family this fundraiser is for. I was fortunate enough to visit this family in January 2023 3 months before the war broke out. They welcomed me with open arms and were very kind to me. Unfortunately at this point, most of my family have fled to different countries and my cousins Sarah and her family are still in eastern Sudan without a way to flee the country. I am trying to get these funds over to them with maximum urgency because there is a limited time period in which leaving the country is safe and even legal. Below is her message

"My name is Sarah , I live here with 10 members of my family and we're in dire help for any aid we can get.

We've been displaced from Khartoum when the war broke out, after trying to hold out for a while but it was dangerous for us to stay considering that we have elderly/sickly/a toddler and our home was in a rather dangerous exposed place.

(Near RSF training base) a missile hit the place behind us, and our neighbour got shot and due to total blackout of electricity and water we had to leave to fled to another state, barely managing to do that with what little resources and money we had left, and it only got worst from there.

We have no extended family to stay with, we couldn't attain a spot in any of the schools (where the displaced families are staying) and thus we aren't allowed to get any aid or financial support from the state or any charity organisations.

We're staying in a tent, we have been for the last few months. It's cold, and dangerous and difficult for us to live in it. And it's getting increasingly hard to provide for our big family since there aren't any job opportunities or a chance for us to get out or live at least a little better.

We're asking for your help, your donations will go directly to providing our daily necessities (food, water) and hopefully we raise enough fund to move to a better place till this crisis passes or we manage to get out.

Please, anything could help. I will provide proof and pictures of our current living situation if needed."

APRIL2024 UPDATE:

To the kind folks who donate on gofundme… I am reaching out one last time. The message above was my cousins on my fathers side. Most of my family has fled Sudan into bad but still better situations in other countries. I still have my aunt and her children, who I grew up with, stuck in Sudan, unable to get a visa. The family i do have in Egypt, is another aunt with no husband and children who are struggling to find work. She was recently (months ago) diagnosed with cancer. I will ask one final time for donations that will 100% go to them, to help them establish new lives and get the education needed to do so. Also will go to travel expenses and chemotherapy. Remember - All of their assets were seized by the RSF and they travelled to a foreign country without a dollar to their name. That is why this, and you, are important. We are the ones with the ABILITY to pursue and achieve and accomplish. Others not so much so. So one last time, please help me help them get on stable footing and build a good foundation so they can support themselves moving forward.
