Help Attacked San Jose Street Vendor Carlos

Exactly one week ago, on February 18, 2023 , street vendor Carlos Sanchez was attacked with a bat in San Jose, CA. His video went viral and caught the attention of many. Since this is his only means of income Carlos went back to work the day after his attack. He then visited the hospital to check his injuries after a full day of work, he mentioned he couldn’t stop working because he has to take care of his family. Today 02/25 marks a week since his attack, Carlos has been experiencing anxiety and is not able to sleep through the night. This attack has taken a mental and emotional toll on Carlos, he is only 22 years old.
Words from his wife : “Carlos has not been able to sleep at night. With tears in his eyes, he asks me why this happened to him if he only goes out to work honestly without harming anyone, I just tell him not to be discouraged that this will happen soon because God knows that he is a good person.”
As a husband and father to two young girls, Carlos needs this vending job to support his family. His wife also works as a vendor to help as well, but now he is afraid for her safety too. He is heartbroken that he cannot work, but his attorney has advised him to look for other sources of revenue so he can attend to his mental well being and thus this GoFundMe account has been created.
Carlos and his family are incredibly grateful to all who have shown so much support! They asked me to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the public for being so kind. They are seeing that out of this tragedy there is so much hope because of so many kind people.
