Help Author, Dad, & Vet Taylor Grant Beat Cancer

Why do bad things happen to good people? Or maybe the better question is, “Why do the worst things happen to the best people?” I know that so many of you have had your faith tested by this painful irony. Too often, it seems that those who bring the most light to others are the ones who suffer the most. And they are also the ones who are the least likely to ask for help.
My dear friend Taylor was diagnosed with head and neck cancer earlier this year. Taylor is a person of pure light. A treasured and loyal friend, a cherished father, a U.S. Navy Veteran, a gifted author/screenwriter/filmmaker, a deeply spiritual and compassionate man, and an incredibly giving spirit, someone who truly deserves the best of life’s gifts.

In 23 years of knowing Taylor, we've never had an argument, even when we first met and he eventually fired me as his assistant at a major motion picture studio. In fact, that was the best thing that he could have done for me because we inevitably became best friends and have been ever since.
We have all been touched by cancer, challenged by it, changed by it. Life can often be so bitterly cruel and inexplicable. But even in the most difficult and vulnerable of times, people can be so kind, so unconditionally loving, so open-hearted, and so uplifting. I am depending on the kindness of strangers (and friends) to help my dear friend Taylor triumph in his time of need, asking for the same generosity and kind-heartedness for him as he has given to so many others throughout his life.
As a father, Taylor has nurtured in his son Zane the gift of empathy and thoughtfulness. Zane is a loving, compassionate and beautiful reflection of his father and mother. As a devoted, loyal and true friend, Taylor is unconditional in his love, sincerity and service. As a United States Navy Veteran, Taylor was honored to serve his country. As a writer in film, TV, stage and books, Taylor has weaved animated and live action stories of the triumph of the human spirit, and his fans have been touched further by his genuineness, integrity, and willingness to reach out and help them personally and professionally, in any way that he can. This is just who Taylor is.

As so many of you know, cancer treatment is incredibly challenging. Along with the myriad of side effects and often unbearable pain, the financial burden has only added to the stress of the situation. Taylor has been blessed to have some of his treatment paid for by insurance, but the out-of-pocket expenses have drained his hard-earned savings. With your donation of literally any amount, our goal is to raise enough money for Taylor to finish his treatment, pay off growing medical debt, triumph over this ruthless disease, and ensure he can afford necessary ongoing (out of pocket) post-recovery treatment, which will continue for months after radiation/chemotherapy ends. My goal is for Taylor to recover fully and continue to be an inspiration, guide and supporter to all those who cross his path. Please consider giving what you can.
Just to let all of you incredibly kind and generous supporters know that we have increased the goal amount to help Taylor through a second round of treatment. There has been significant success with the first round of treatment and Taylor continues to fight the good fight with everything he has. Taylor, Zane and I thank you from the depths of our hearts for your precious love and caring. We can’t win this battle without you. Anything that you can give will make a world of difference. Thank you so very much.
