Help Brianna Receive Endometriosis Surgery

Hi, my name is Laura, and I’m creating this fundraiser to help my best friend, Brianna, receive a surgery she desperately needs. Since she was a teenager, Brianna has lived with debilitating pelvic pain that has increasingly gotten worse and has majorly impacted her adult life. She’s just been diagnosed with severe Endometriosis and Pudendal Neuralgia (along with Interstitial Cystitis and other pain-related illnesses she’s suffered with for most of her life). Read below for more details on why this surgery is so imperative…

During this surgery she will be having a partial Hysterectomy (which includes removal of the uterus, Fallopian tubes, and cervix), Endometriosis Excisions via robotics to any organs that need it, and Botox to her pelvic floor muscles and Pudendal nerve. She will also need an MRI prior to surgery to confirm whether or not there is any Endometriosis growing on her Sciatic Nerve. As you can imagine, these expenses add up very quickly, and her surgeon is out of network (as many Endo specialists are). He is also the closest specialist to where she lives (about 5 hours away). Because he is so far away, she will also be required to stay in town for about a week afterword, in order to receive a post-op appointment and make sure she is healing properly. Which, as you can imagine, only adds to the expense. Luckily, her surgeon is actually one of the more affordable specialists in the entire United States, and widely acclaimed in the field. But even still, all of these medical requirements do not come cheaply.

Brianna lives with chronic, excruciating pain on a daily basis. It has become nearly impossible for her to function in day to day life, and no medication or exercises are able to provide her any relief. After almost a lifetime of being told by doctors that she only has Dysmenorrhea (aka: painful periods), she finally has her true diagnosis, and knows how to help herself feel better. Her surgeon has told her this procedure is her best possible option and that she should have a vast improvement in her quality of life.
