Help Build Portable Handwashing Stations To Fight COVID-19
Bonneville Electric is excited to announce that we have just finished building these hand washing stations for Triangle Mutual Aid. We are volunteering our labor and using supplies found at local businesses.
These stations will be installed at the IFC Food Pantry and other meal distribution sites. We are already in the process of building more units for vulnerable places around the Triangle and hope to have another dozen or more placed in strategic locations soon.
Triangle Mutual Aid is asking for your support in funding this important public health project. If you are interested in helping with the cost of supplies you can send your donation to Venmo@TriangleMutualAid, or donate here. All of the money collected will go directly to Triangle Mutual Aid, who will use the monies to purchase supplies to build more of these much-needed devices.
In addition to installing these hand-washing stations around downtown Carrboro and Chapel Hill, these units will also be placed in areas where homeless and other at-risk populations will have access to them (outside shelters, soup kitchens, etc...) Please let us know if you have ideas for where one of these hand-washing stations would be useful.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "People who sleep outside or in places not meant for human habitation may be at greater risk for infection when there is community spread of COVID-19." Providing access to hand-washing stations is a much-needed resource to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Help us, help our at-risk neighbors, and our local community as a whole.
If you can not donate money, but would be interested in helping out by donating supplies or labor please contact us at [email redacted]
Many Thanks,
Brad & Christine
