Help Cecilia’s Kids Get Through This Tragic Event

Hi, my name is Marie (Chumby), I’d like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this story and for any contributions made. Our family truly appreciates the outpouring of prayers and support we’ve received over the past 3 days. We thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts!

On the early morning of Friday June 11th, my sister Cecilia Bonilla was shot 3 times in a domestic related incident involving her boyfriend of over 20 years who was also shot and killed. Cecilia was left in critical condition and is still in the intensive care unit fighting for her life. She’s been sedated and on a ventilator this entire time so she has no knowledge of the outcome of that tragic event. Cecilia has had 3 surgeries thus far and may need more in the future. During the events leading up to the shooting, and the actual shooting itself, Cecilia’s apartment was completely destroyed so she no longer has a home to return to. Our family has created this GoFundMe to raise money to help her along her journey to recovery, moving costs so we can find a new home for her to return to so she can eventually be reunited with her children, travel expenses for doctors visits, and anything else her and the children may need for the long road they have ahead of them.

Cecilia has 5 children between the ages of 6-17 along with 2 adult daughters. The younger children were notified today of their mother’s condition and their fathers death. It has been a very rough weekend for our entire family. If you would like to assist with their financial burden any donations would be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go directly to Cecilia and the children. In the event that she takes a turn for the worse and does not make it, all donations will go towards funeral expenses and anything remaining will be used for the minor children's care and expenses.
