Story: Hey there! My name is Evan, I am 20 years old, and I’m currently pursuing a degree in Counseling Psychology with a focus on ministry at Toccoa Falls College. I’m reaching out to you today because I need your help to make a dream come true—not just for me, but for the many people I plan to help in the future. A Little About Me: I’ve come from a rough upbringing. I grew up in a home dealing with mental illness, verbal abuse, and constant fights. At 15, I flew through a back windshield and spent my freshman year of high school recovering. From there, life didn’t get much easier—I struggled with ADHD, deep depression, and social anxiety. High school was tough, and I barely graduated. I took a gap year to figure things out, but I felt stuck. It wasn’t until I stayed with my sister for a while that things started to shift. I was given the space to heal, and eventually, my faith grew. In 2024, I prayed to God for peace and clarity, and I felt that peace wash over me in a way I’ll never forget. I accepted Jesus into my life, and that moment was life-changing. Why Toccoa Falls College? My sister introduced me to Toccoa Falls College, a Christian institution 20 minutes from where she lived. I visited, applied the same day, and felt like I was walking into the right place. I started commuting for the first six months, and it was here that my faith deepened as I learned and grew through personal study and conversations with my brother-in-law, who’s a pastor. As I finish my first year of college, I realize how much I’ve grown—not only in my faith but in my passion for helping others. I want to be a counselor who can help people facing the same struggles I’ve been through. Mental health matters. I want to provide a safe space for individuals to speak freely—whether it’s about their mental health, their faith, or simply their day—without fear of judgment. The Ask: In order to complete my education and reach my goal of becoming a counselor, I need help. I am seeking $30k to cover the costs of my education, living expenses, and other necessary costs while I pursue my calling. Your donation will directly contribute to building a future where I can give back and make a difference. Why Your Help Matters: Your generosity will allow me to focus fully on my education without the overwhelming stress of financial insecurity. I’ll be able to complete my 2nd year. How You Can Help: •Donate: Any amount will help and will bring me closer to my goal. Even small donations add up. •Share: Please share my GoFundMe with your friends, family, or anyone who might be moved by my story.
• Pray: Most importantly, keep me in your prayers as I continue this journey. I believe with the right support, I can achieve this and help others do the same. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. Your support means the world to me, and I truly can’t wait to use my education to help those who need it most.
