Help for Trisha & Greg Godfrey

Hi everyone,
This is a fundraiser to assist Greg and Trisha Godfrey with ongoing expenses associated with Greg's battle with Colon Cancer. Greg has been on leave from his job as a firefighter since March 29, 2023, when he had emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction which left him with a colostomy bag. To prevent further complications and additional blockages, Greg is on a long-term liquid diet. Last night during dinner, he chewed a bite of Levia's pizza and spit it out just to have the taste on his tongue, can you imagine? Greg has been hospitalized 38 of the last 63 days and the bills from the medical community are mounting. The cancer has begun to spread into the tissue outside of his intestinal liner and is moving into other organs. Greg and Trisha would very much like to explore a second opinion and additional help from MD Anderson in Houston, TX very soon.
Their pastor had this to say about Greg:
"If I were to describe Greg Godfrey to you I would say he is a good man. Greg faithfully served his country in the United States Military and then transitioned into his role as a civilian firefighter. He is a credit to his community through his civil service. He is a tremendous blessing and encouragement to his local church. Greg is a faithful, genuine friend. His greatest role, though, just might be as a father to Levia, stepfather to Ricky and Lina and husband to Trisha.
As is their nature, Greg and Trisha took the news of his colon cancer with grace and peace. Their faith in God allows them to face this with the hope that only comes through a real relationship with Jesus Christ. I know Greg will continue to fight. Psalm 37:23 (KJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way."
When I asked Trisha if I could help her by setting up a Go Fund Me page, she cried. She said "I was raised that you have to work hard in life and can't depend on other people. It's so hard for me to accept help and I feel like we owe everyone so much already. How can we ever pay back? But, Greg told me that sometimes you have to just let others be a blessing to you." She is still working a full schedule at the nail salon while tending to the needs of Levia, their six-year-old daughter as well as Greg, although I know she feels blessed to have family nearby to stand in the gap with her.
You may, like me, have come to know and love Trisha and Greg and be able to call them friends, and you may not know them at all but I bet either way, you can see their need. This is about helping these people who have helped others when we've been in our valleys, even if it just meant listening to us tell of our troubles or praying for us as we went through them. Greg and Trisha need us now. The burden and stress of this battle can be eased no matter how big or small the gift you choose to give so that Greg can fight this, recover, and continue on his amazing journey. Thank you!
