Help John Simpson after his battle with Thrombosis

Hello everyone, my name is Star Simpson-Mueller and I am starting this GoFundMe for my Dad, John Simpson. After a long battle and many surgeries due to thrombosis (formation of a blood clot, known as a thrombosis, within a blood vessel. It prevents blood from flowing normally through the circulatory system) he unfortunately had to have his left leg amputated.

When John isn’t working or attending one of his kids/grandkids sporting events, he was visiting with his grandchildren, golfing, helping one of many people on a new project around the house or spending time with his siblings.

 

If you know my dad, you know not much can hold him back. From a young age, sports has been his passion, and that legacy lives on with his 2 sons that he loves supporting in slow-pitch softball and with his grandchildren who dominate any game just like their grandpa did.

 

This past couple of weeks has been a roller coaster. A roller coaster of emotions and now new challenges. Our Dad has a lot of life left to live and we are thankful to still have him. With 4 kids and 7+ grandkids, we need help getting him back on his feet (literally and figuratively).

 

So why are we asking for help- as most of you know, the medical bills will soon start rolling in and all the future doctor and physical therapy visits, and with the unknown timing of when disability will kick in, we need help making sure our Dad is able to maintain the home he fixed up and hopes to remain in, as well as many updates we plan on making to ensure a safe home for him to get around in. And last but not least, we hope to be able to provide any and all prosthetics that he will need to get him back to doing what he loves!
