Urgent Help Kimberly Call Raise New Roof Thai Center Marin
Donation protected
Many of you know and love Kimberly Call - 25 year Marin County resident, Certified Massage Therapist/Instructor specializing in Thai Massage, and founder of the Thai Massage Center of Marin, first in Mill Valley, then San Rafael.
Last winter, Kimberly's home based Center in Marinwood, San Rafael suffered catastrophic storm damage. Her home owner insurance covered damage inside - but not the roof. The 1958 roof had been patched for years, but is now beyond repair. She urgently needs the roof replaced due to the now severe CA "atmospheric river" storms. The lowest cost that has been quoted is $20k. Can you please help her "raise her new roof"?
These photos are Kimberly's flooded roof during last winter's storms. In spite of her efforts as sole homeowner climbing ladder day and night onto roof in storm gear, hauling tarps, bricks and buckets - no amount of running multiple sump pumps, hoses and electrical cords could remove water from this no longer flat roof with inadequate drainage. Her homeowners insurance provided an emergency tarp structure but it is temporary and not made to withstand another year's storms.

Kimberly tried everything this past year to fund the new roof herself - but could not. She could not get a loan or line of credit; she applied for federal, state and local disaster assistance grants, but they only help with fire and flood damage. During the past year of storm repairs inside, she could not rent to her usual tenants or do her home based work which normally pays the bills, and her emergency funds were depleted in the years of Covid hardships affecting her self employed businesses. She has exhausted all her options and has nowhere else to turn - except to us, her community and friends!
Kimberly has blessed so many of us over the years with her spirit and skill as therapist and coach, and her generosity and joy! Let's show her our community generosity and pay it forward! Thank you for considering supporting this Go Fund Me Campaign and please share widely within your community and social media. She is a local treasure and so deserving of our generosity. Thank you and bless you!
