Help Mike Palbicki Come Home!
Donation protected
The day before Thanksgiving 2022, Mike was rushed to the emergency room after losing function in his legs. Previous to this he had months of trying to figure out where the pain was coming from and was diagnosed with other medical issues that would require surgery. After multiple x-rays in the emergency room, the doctors finally found an infection in the upper part of his spine. The infection had eaten away at his bone which caused his paralysis. The doctor at Methodist decided that surgery needed to happen right away and Mike underwent his first surgery on the day of Thanksgiving.
This was one of three surgeries that he went through to clear the infection and reinforce his spine. We are thankful that he was able to make it through each surgery, but the road to recovery is a long one. Mike has not regained the function of his legs and the doctors project that it may be years before that happens.
Mike has been in the hospital since the day he went to the emergency room and in order to bring him home, modifications of the family’s home need to be completed. They are working to modify the home to be wheelchair accessible including a lift, larger doorways, and a modified bathroom with a roll-in shower.
Any money donated will be going towards the home modifications, needed medical supplies, and medical bills. Any amount that you are willing and able to contribute is greatly appreciated. If you are not able to contribute, we completely understand and ask that you please share with your friends and family.
Thank you!
