Help Nancy Born Beat Cancer!

Blessings! This Go Fund Me is to help raise funding for Nancy Born's medical bills as she fights an aggressive brain cancer with high spirits and bravery. We're not sure what the future holds, and anything helps.

She was an early childhood educator for 38 years, and has impacted so many families and young children in the community! Now is our community’s turn to help her shine, recover and live her best life!

The day before Nancy's birthday in 2022 she went in for a check-up and ended up in the hospital. They found a golf ball size brain tumor. By the next day (her birthday) she was in emergency brain surgery.

We celebrated her birthday in the hospital, and it was a trying time for us all. She spent three weeks in the hospital recovering from surgery. 

Her favorite time of the year is autumn and we were able to get her home just before the last yellow leaves of the aspens dropped. As we were breathing a sigh of relief after a successful surgery we were notified that the tumor could grow back and that it was cancerous. She has completed her first round of chemotherapy and radiation after six weeks of treatments.

Teachers (even of 38 devoted years) don't get paid what they should, her insurance deductible re-starts at the beginning of the year, sooner than we have time to prepare. All of your donations will help with Nancy's medical bills, healing, so she can begin to live life to the fullest again. 

She will have a break during the month of December to enjoy the holidays as best as she is able and will resume chemotherapy. 

Nancy and Don, her husband and also a retired school teacher, live over an hour away from the hospital she had treatments in Colorado Springs (almost every day for weeks). As you can imagine this whole process has been quite taxing physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually for the whole family. 

My name is Nina Born, daughter of Nancy. I moved back from Miami to be with my mom, brother and father so we can all come together to help her though this difficult time. We are so grateful for everyone who has helped us along the way.
