My name is Wade Spencer, but I go by many names: ‘bug man’, ‘ent nerd’, ‘scorpion boy’, ‘hey you!’, ‘does he know he has a bug on him?’, etc. Whatever you may call me, I am a gay, Lebanese-American naturalist, Native Angelino now living in Davis, a lover of nature, insects, arachnids, myriapods, plants, California’s endemic geology, history & species, and sharing the wonders of the world with people of the community (see attached images of me being me). I am also the proud caretaker and breeder of 14 tarantulas, 17 black widows, 8 wolf spiders, 12 scorpions, 30 millipedes, 1 centipede, 40 mourning geckos, 3 tree frogs, 70+ darkling beetles, hundreds of isopods and cockroaches, and about 53 plants (carnivorous and conventional house plants).

Just a month ago, I went through an extremely traumatic breakup after 3 1/2 years with my [now ex-]boyfriend. Most of my belongings were destroyed or damaged and I am stuck with an unfurnished apartment that I cannot afford on my own. I have put my paychecks toward rent and bills, had little for food, and still will not make rent and utilities this month.
I have a lot of work ahead of me in the next couple weeks to make my space livable again before finding a roommate.

My animal friends and myself will be facing eviction if I am unable to get rent in by Wednesday, March 20th. I have turned to GoFundMe, and to you to help in any way you can.I am asking for $3,000 which will fund rent, Utilities, PG&E, and a trip to Home Depot for supplies I need to make repairs to the apartment. Any donation amount is warmly accepted.

If you would like to help, but are unable to monetarily, I am seeking furniture such as a Couch, a Coffee Table, Night Stands, Small Dining Table, Chairs, a Twin-Sized Bed, Bedding, a Pillow, and Lamps (floor and table-top).
