Help Sharon and The Cat Posse Recover from Eaton Fires

Donation protected
Update:

Sharon and The Cat Posse volunteers were able to access the remains of her house several days ago in Altadena to witness the devastation from the Eaton fire. It would have been 25 years of Sharon living in this house. This was the home that she brought cats back to that needed love and care after being abandoned or neglected. Getting them much needed medical care and searching for their forever homes - now gone.

As time passes since the fire, Sharon has slowly been settling into a temporary place for her, her sister, her dogs and the cats to reside in. Sharon, being the strong and silent type (she does always maintain a good sense of humour as she walks through life though!), walked through the rubble of her property jus grateful that she had her volunteers around her to accompany and console her. Sharon is still proceeding through the aftermath of this event on shaky ground and needs financial support to get through each day, week, month. Expenses for cats in rescue is also always high. Please keep sharing. Thank you for everyone who has supported and shared. We can't let the momentum die down for all those affected by this catastrophe.

Update:

Hi everyone,

Above we have permission to share the photo of the before and after of Sharon's home after the Eaton fire. Thank you for your unwavering support of Sharon as she continues to emotionally recover from the events of the last 10 days. We have shared an update to our Instagram account @thecatposse sharing that Sharon has been doing okay as our volunteers are helping everyday source resources for Sharon to get back on her feet as well as continuing to care for the cats as a group. We have increased the goal as people are reaching out still interested in contributing to Sharon's living costs as she continues to plan her life and the lives of the Cat Posse's cats for the future. For anymore updates, please follow along on Instagram. Thanks all.

Sharon is the founder of The Cat Posse, a 501c3 organization devoted to rescuing and rehabilitating abused and abandoned cats since 2008. Wednesday morning at 3am in Altadena, she was forced to evacuate her home with her dogs and the Cat Posse cats that have been rescued by her over the years – cats that are seniors, have extreme medical needs, aren’t fully socialized around humans, younger cats, the list goes on.

Without any external help, Sharon and her sister took the animals in the short period of time they were given to get out and find safety – which thankfully they were able to secure. Sharon is still in shock and does not know how she will emotionally or financially recover from this and as her volunteers we are trying to get her back on her feet. She is an incredible leader and cat lover that keeps our organization going with her compassion for animals and for the people around her. As volunteers we are heartbroken for her and are putting out a message for help.

In this time we are trying to get things organized for Sharon - whether it may be future costs for food, supplies for the cats, etc.

You can visit our instagram handle @thecatposse for updates as we receive them - the roads have been blocked off in Sharon's neighbourhood so it has been difficult to get alot of information, but we will try to keep people informed on the situation as things unfold more.

The video below is about Sharon and the ins and outs of rescue, the triumphs and heartbreaks and costs associated.
