Help Wissam’s Family survive in Gaza
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Christian, and I am fundraising for Wissam and Muhammad al-Qahwaji and their three children Ahmed, Kenan, and Yen. I live in Atlanta and have recently connected with Wissam, getting to know her and her family over the past month. Wissam and her family have now been displaced twice, and she is currently alone with her three children living in a makeshift shelter trying to provide for her kids amidst constant danger.
Below is Wissam’s story:
"I am Wissam from Gaza. My parents lived in Jaffa until 1948, the year of the Palestinian Nakba. The occupation deported my grandparents and they eventually settled in Khan Yunis. They owned lands, cultivated and sold the land’s crops, and their lives were beautiful.
For 5 years I was married to my husband, who worked day and night until he could build a house for us and my children. But at the beginning of the war, the occupation destroyed my house and we were displaced to Rafah with absolutely nothing. We bought a tent and we lived in it for 5 months until the occupation withdrew from my city of Khan Yunis. We went to the place where we lived but there was no trace of our house. Now we are displaced again with no tent."
On July 21, Wissam lost six family members to renewed attacks on Khan Yunis, and she was forced to flee to Deir al-Balah with her three kids. She is now separated from the rest of her family as they bury the martyrs in her family. Wissam’s children deserve safety and stability, yet they face constant danger. We are raising funds to help Wissam’s family survive these dire circumstances and eventually flee to a safer place. Your donations will go towards purchasing food, supplies for their new shelter, and securing a better future for their children. Any amount you can give will make a significant difference and bring hope to a family in desperate need.
