Help a trans girl escape an abusive situation

Hi my name is Leah, I am a transgender woman and an artist/animator struggling to survive. I moved to the Netherlands to start a new life but my partner dumped me out of nowhere and forced me out of my apartment.

In my home country of South Africa, I was a victim of gender based violence and sexual assault, I also did not have access to proper healthcare as I was struggling to make ends meat as a freelance artist supporting my sick mother who has now passed away. I do not feel safe there anymore.. so I am trying to get my visa changed or in the worst case apply for asylum.

I lost my part time job after work found out I had health problems and subsequently my partner dumped me, forced me out of my home and revoked my partnership visa. His reason was that I am too difficult to take care of as a trans woman.

As I have been forced to move to a different city I have lost direct access to my healthcare providers who have been helping me with the dizzyness, shortness of breath and rheumatoid pain that I have been struggling with for the past two years along with finally getting a therapist for my anxiety and depression. Also in this time I have been contacted by the local gender care organization to discuss gender affirming surgery but if I lose my visa this dream of getting the healthcare I need will die.

Currently I do not have the means to support myself as my mental and physical health has taken a turn for the worse. I am staying with my other partner temporarily but I don’t know how long that is allowed as it’s a student accommodation and she doesn’t have the means to help

me on her own.

I am currently raising funds to cover my basic needs; Food, medical aid, potential legal fees and visa costs. I am hoping this fund will give me some windfall I need while I fight to continue living here and to get the gender affirming care and protection and stability I have been denied for years.

My dream has been to focus on my art, start my own business selling merchandise and eventually complete my animation studies so I can work on my own projects.
