Help Daniel (Dea) after his traumatic motorcycle accident!

Hi everyone!

I have started a GoFundMe for my son who was unfortunately involved in a very traumatic accident. Tuesday May 7th my son Daniel was riding home from work when a car had pulled into his lane and slammed on their breaks suddenly causing him to go into their rear at a relatively high speed as he was entering the HWY.

He has been subject to a multitude of very painful and serious injuries which doctors have stated that his chances of surviving this accident was as low as 11%.

His injuries consist of broken ribs, broken and fractured collar bones, a broken femur, shattered knee cap, broken right hand and fingers, fractured spine and neck, facial fractures and a fractured pelvis.

He has undergone 6 lengthy surgeries to mend the broken bones he has sustained, including metal plates, wires and rods held in by a large number of screws.

Now he faces a long road to recover to learn how to use his body again, his main goal is to get his life back to where he can do things on his own again and get himself back to work.

He currently cannot walk or sit up but his rehabilitation team aim to have him wheelchair mobile within a month or 2 but estimate at least 6 months or more until he will walk again with the assistance of walking aids.

My son had worked so hard and made so many sacrifices to buy his dream bike and unfortunately only owned it for 3 weeks, although being extremely grateful to be alive despite the odds, losing his bike has broken his heart and he stated the feeling of losing his dream is worse than the pain of all the injuries combined as not only that bike being his only transport to and from work to help him support himself and his family, the bike was also his life and passion that he loved so dearly, the bike helped him feel set free from any worries and negative impacts that we all understand life can have!

This GoFundMe is set up to help him a little financially as he has rent and bills that won't stop while he recovers and to ease the financial strain on his partner too, as his partner Jamie who has gone above and beyond looking after him is now juggling work and visiting Daniel whilst looking after him in there and bills/rent fuel and their fur babies. Additionally our intention with this is to hopefully hit the goal together and we'll be able to surprise him by replacing that bike he loved so dearly, whilst also dampening the financial strain on both him and his partner once he is able to walk and ride again he will have some money to put towards a new bike or a new dream. I will try post updates on his condition, just know he is in great spirits and is determined to walk and RIDE again!
